Proprietor of The Fresh Pantry, Gemma Hearnes, comes to Ferntree Gully with 27 years Hospitality Industry experience as a qualified chef, including 8 years managing a Deli & a number of years teaching TAFE students in the 'art' of food preparation & cooking. Gemma has also privately run a small catering business, which began in 2008, in conjunction with other formal employment & will continue to offer catering as part of The Fresh Pantry.Take-home cuisine is the main focus of the store, featuring items such as ready-made Roast meals & Quiches, Casseroles, Lasagne, Frittata, Rice dishes & Salads. There's also sweets!    
During opening hours, a selection of meals are available cold from the display (which can be heated for you if required) or HOT dishes are available from the bain-maree from mid-day to around 2pm. After which, they & other prepared meals are packaged & cooled, then vacuumed & placed in the display ready for dinner orders & sales. You can choose from a range of meals & snacks such as baguettes, wraps, arancini rice balls & delicious salads. The Fresh Pantry also offer yummy sweets such as individual tarts & cheesecake, chocolate mousse cake & biscuits, a range of bottled cold juices & drinks, plus we do cappachino or latte, teas & hot chocolate.For general menu listings please see our MENU tab above.  Gemma Welcomes you to The Fresh Pantry. There's always something new @ 'The Pantry' We constantly try new casseroles & combinations here at 'The Pantry' & many have proved firm favorites with regular customers. We welcome new customers every day - as we generally don't advertise outside our local area, word-of-mouth (the 'bush telegraph' or 'grapevine') has proven wonderfully successful in ensuring word gets out about the concept of our business & our delicious & affordable meals. A special thank you to everyone who has contributed to this - you've helped to ensure the success of our business.... Our 'regulars' travel from as far as the city, Box Hill, Cranbourne, Pakenham & we even have a lovely couple who call in weekly on their way home to Healesville! Many of our older customers & those traveling from a distance are buying enough meals to last them for up to a fortnight or so & freezing what they don't use within a week (we recommend the vacuum sealed meals can be kept in the fridge for up to a week, or frozen for up to 3 months). Now that the weather's got warmer we've scaled back on hot soup, but usually have one or two in the freezer for our die-hard soup fans.... We're planning more salads for the summer season too & don't forget our popular chunky fruit salad is always available - unless of course sold out! As
